Cultivating Practices to Take Care of Your Heart.

The heart sets the rhythm of our life and the flames needed to keep the beat alive should neither be burning out of control or flickering towards embers. The spark of the heart is the spark of our whole machinery. It can give us the capacity to love, act and to come alive in the world.

Acceptance, self-love, harmony, peace and connection are all qualities of balanced Heart energy.

The 3 tips included are in service of your heart and to help awaken and heal your intuition and internal guidance system. Honor them as a practice to tap into a grounding force that will help you adapt to growth and change.

3 Heart Opening Tips

JOURNAL

Expressing emotions and writing them down on paper can help you sift through what your feeling, what’s hiding, what your holding onto and with time bringing you full circle into feeling lighter. Regardless of what emotion you had when you started writing, try to end on a positive note so you can move forward. If I’m not ready to write “nice” than its an indication I’m not done.

GO OUTSIDE

Maybe you’ve heard of “grounding” and it sounds hard to connect with but it’s benefits are real. Linking directly with the earth is the fastest way to allow yourself to relax and open your heart not to mention support better sleep and reduced pain/inflammation in the body. It’s as simple as it sounds- walk barefoot directly in nature such as on sand or grass. My favorite way to connect is walking in the middle of big beautiful mountains.

SIP

Moon milk is as enchanting as it sounds. There are many recipes that include herbs, tonics, spices, flowers with positive effects on the endocrine, cardiopulmonary, and central nervous systems, with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, leading to a deeper sleep. One recipe I enjoy is “The Heart Opener.”
